A pressure gauge is an instrument used to measure the pressure of fluids. There are two main types of pressure gauges: absolute and differential. Absolute gauges measure the pressure of a fluid by measuring its weight. Differential gauges measure the difference between two pressures.
The Basics of Silicone Oil
In order to work properly, silicone oil must be kept at a certain temperature. If the oil gets too cold, it will not flow smoothly through the tube. If the oil gets hot enough, it will break down and become unusable. To keep the oil at the right temperature, you need to insulate the gauge with something called a “silicone sleeve.” This keeps the oil warm while allowing air to circulate around the gauge.
When Should You Use Them?
There are two main reasons why you would use a silicone sleeve. First, you might want to protect the gauge from extreme temperatures. Second, you might want to protect the gauge from vibration. Third, you might want to prevent condensation inside the gauge. Condensation occurs when water vapor in the air comes into contact with the oil inside the gauge. As the oil cools, it becomes less viscous and more likely to form droplets of liquid. These droplets then fall onto the surface of the gauge and eventually drip off.
